Final Installation instructions

First I got the ok from each student to participate in my project, then I took  a T3 camera and the stand associated with it, and set it up inside the Black Box, using the black curtain as a back drop.
I made sure that the camera was in focus and did a test run to make sure the video and sound were set and working properly.
When everything was set, I recorded each participating class member. I asked them 2-3 questions: -  1. what makes them happy?
                     2. what legacy do they want to leave behind, when their time on earth is over?
                     3. Do they know a joke?
After I recorded all the participants, I imported the footage into Adobe Premiere and edited it. After I edited and scaled the footage, I exported it and then imported it into MadMapper. Once into mad Mapper, I placed each individual on their own quadrant.
Inside the Black Box, I took 10 white boxes and strategically place them into 3D positions, (see video), in front of the big screen.

After the boxes were set up, I hooked up the projector, turned it on, connected it to my computer, and mapped the quadrants onto the boxes, but since I had so many, I mapped some of them onto the big screen. (because overlapping the quadrants blacks out the one beneath, I had to do a live mix while showing so some of the quadrants can be seen).
After all quadrants are played, you can loop the project or power off the equipment.

ReFlections

(Final Project)

Artist Statement

I have form relationships and have bonded with students in my Installation class, I have seen some class mates open their hearts and trusted us enough to share their most trusted secrets. I created my installation, "ReFlections", to further, and openly, express themselves from the "Heart", because I believe, "What leaves the Heart, reaches the Heart.

                                          Proposal 4 Finals Update 1
            MULTIMEDIA AND INSTALLATION ART

I have been trouble shooting as to what to project, my project 4, upon. I have decided to use,

big screen, small screens, boxes and the walls in the black box. I feel that, just like people with

different personalities, the different objects will help create the different personalities.

 Boxes
I am proposing to use the next class, on November 23rd, to film all the students for my Project 4/Final.

      Camille Utterback
MULTIMEDIA AND INSTALLATION ART

I am impressed by the works of ‘Camille Utterback’, her interactive installations, reactive works, site specific, and generative works, captures the minds of the viewer ”In a dynamic process of kinesthetic discovery and play”.
I love the way Camille’s work makes the participants want to interact with her work and continue to recreate her work in a live setting. I love her originality and the fresh and new creations and the way she thinks out of the box.

This work, Entangled was commissioned at the “Contemporary Jewish Museum”, for installation, for “New Experiments in Art and Technology” 2015.

Artist Statement
“My work is an attempt to bridge the conceptual and the corporeal. How we use our bodies to create abstract symbolic systems, and how these systems (language for example) have reverberations on our physical self is a matter of great concern to me. The dialog between these two realms is the subject of both my traditional and interactive work, and it is particularly relevant to our contemporary culture as we aim to grapple with the ramifications of virtuality and our increasing relationship with the interfaces and representational systems of our machines.”

Proposal For Project 4

For my Project 4, I would like to ask each person in class 2 question while filming them. The questions are: -
1.    What are you passionate about?
2.    What are you thankful for?
I would then use Premiere Pro to separate the video, and then export it. I would then import it into Madmapper, and project the separated videos onto different objects.
