                                          Proposal 4 Finals Update 1
            MULTIMEDIA AND INSTALLATION ART

I have been trouble shooting as to what to project, my project 4, upon. I have decided to use,

big screen, small screens, boxes and the walls in the black box. I feel that, just like people with

different personalities, the different objects will help create the different personalities.

 Boxes
I am proposing to use the next class, on November 23rd, to film all the students for my Project 4/Final.

      Camille Utterback
MULTIMEDIA AND INSTALLATION ART

I am impressed by the works of ‘Camille Utterback’, her interactive installations, reactive works, site specific, and generative works, captures the minds of the viewer ”In a dynamic process of kinesthetic discovery and play”.
I love the way Camille’s work makes the participants want to interact with her work and continue to recreate her work in a live setting. I love her originality and the fresh and new creations and the way she thinks out of the box.

This work, Entangled was commissioned at the “Contemporary Jewish Museum”, for installation, for “New Experiments in Art and Technology” 2015.

Artist Statement
“My work is an attempt to bridge the conceptual and the corporeal. How we use our bodies to create abstract symbolic systems, and how these systems (language for example) have reverberations on our physical self is a matter of great concern to me. The dialog between these two realms is the subject of both my traditional and interactive work, and it is particularly relevant to our contemporary culture as we aim to grapple with the ramifications of virtuality and our increasing relationship with the interfaces and representational systems of our machines.”

Proposal For Project 4

For my Project 4, I would like to ask each person in class 2 question while filming them. The questions are: -
1.    What are you passionate about?
2.    What are you thankful for?
I would then use Premiere Pro to separate the video, and then export it. I would then import it into Madmapper, and project the separated videos onto different objects.

Eric and I have known each other for about four years now, and we always wanted to work on a project together, and when this class presented the opportunity, we jumped on it. We both love music and digital effects, we both love to create, Eric is better with some softwares than I am, and I am better at some than he is, and together we make the perfect team.
Our concept is to push our softwares to the limit and create a visual combination, and set up, that have never been seen before. Something fun, and pleasing to the eyes and ears. We combined Serato (music Software), and MadMapper (Visual Software), using two computers, a projectors, 2 objects to project upon, a DJ Controller and speakers, to bring our vision to life. Enjoy.

Eric and I have successfully demonstrated our Project 3, and are very excited to show  it to our Professor and to our classmates. We have combined sound and video to establish interaction with each other. Our classmates will be able to play the music and create a visual effect on the screen.
They will also be able to control some aspects directly, of the effects, themselves by way of a Playstation controller, like changing the opacity, or slowing or speeding up the effects, or they can even change the colors.

Eric and I decided to use two computers in able to bring our project to life. One computer will control the music, while the second computer will control the image that will be projected onto the screen.

Eric and I wanted to combine the music software, "Serato" and MadMapper, and assign cue points to be controlled by the midi keyboard.

The MadMapper software would not allow for the two software to perform together, it took control, so we have to come up with a different scenario, to make our idea come to life.

Mel Chin
MULTIMEDIA AND INSTALLATION ART
FMX 463-T • FALL 2018
Mel Chin was born in Houston, Texas in 1951. He is not only an artist wut a world-renowned writer as well. He uses a wide variety of approaches in his are, from doing solo works to works that require multi-disciplinary, collaborative teamwork. He uses his art to provoke greater social awareness and responsibility. He does this by placing his art pieces inside of unique places, like destroyed homes, television and toxic landfills.
I choose to study and write about Mr. Chin because, in studying his unique art, I became connected to his pieces, they all have meaning and stand for something. I love the unique way that he uses art to provoke something inside of the viewer, and the many different avenues he uses to accomplish this. Here are some examples.

Political
Look under your feet and you will see people with their eyes open, buried in mass graves.

Ecology
Cli-mate is a way to change the way humans behave worldwide.

Mapping
Looking into the origins of words form and materials.
